ben kingsley

Ben Kingsley’s father was a doctor of Indian decent and his mother was an English
fashion model. Like many Ben Kingsley began his acting career doing Shakespeare in
Britain during the late 1960’s and 70’s. It was in 1972 that Kingsley starred in his first film Fear Is the Key, this film did not do so well.
After another disappointing film role Kingsley decided to return to his familiar home of the stage that was until a part was offered
to him that would change his career. Kingsley won the title role in Sir Richard Attenborough's epic Gandhi. Unlike Kingsley’s other films at the time, Gandhi
was a huge success, the film that won him an Oscar was a huge international hit.
Over the years Ben Kingsley has chosen to act in smaller budget films. Over the last couple decades the actor has been in Turtle
Diary, Bugsy, Sneakers and Schindler's List. Kingsley is nominated this year for his work in House Of Sand and Fog.
