2005 was a great year for George Clooney.
He was nominated for a Golden Globe for his directing
in Good
Night, and Good Luck and his acting in Syriana.
Clooney was in a television studio at
an early age going to work with his father, Cincinnati
newscaster Nick Clooney. His aunt Rosemary Clooney was
a huge star in the time as well. He studied at Northern
Kentucky University and tried out for the Cincinnati
Reds before deciding on acting.
Clooney had parts in smaller films and
guest spots in television for much of the 1980's, including
a role in a short lived show called E/R, with Seinfeld
actor Jason Alexander. Roles like this helped land Clooney
a role in another show called ER, but this time the
show was a huge hit and made Clooney a star.
Clooney eventually got back into films with work in Batman & Robin, O Brother,
Where Art Thou? and Ocean's Eleven.
This year Clooney acted in Syriana and was a triple threat in Good Night, and Good Luck, acting,
producing and director the film.
