Hope Davis wanted to become an actress right out of high school. In
1989 she auditioned for Baywatch, but did not get the job, but that would be
only a tiny blemish on her career.
Her ballet training she studied throughout high school allowed her to excel in the
Chicago production of Speed the Plow. Davis took over the role from Madonna
and the play was a huge success. This allowed her to get into her films like The Daytrippers
and Next Stop Wonderland.
Last year Davis was in the award winning movie About Schmidt with Jack Nicholson and this
year’s Golden Globe performance in American Splendor.
