Michelle Williams grew up in small-town Montana, she got into acting
early and mostly had small parts in television and commercials.
Her big break came in the form of character Jennifer "Jen" Lindley in
the hit television program Dawson's Creek. The show got her a lot of attention and
eventually helped her land roles in films.
Williams' film resume includes Perfume,
Prozac Nation and Imaginary Heroes. More recently she
played Alma Beers Del Mar in the Golden Globe nominated
Brokeback Mountain
with her boyfriend and father of her first baby Heath
Ledger.
William's performance as a wife whose husband is having an affair with another man has
made her on of the favorites to win this year's Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress.
