 Laura
Henderson (Judi Dench
)on a whim buys an old theatre in London's West End
and it does well at first. With World War II in the
background the theatre starts to lose it's attendance
and of course it's profit. She hires persuades impresario
Vivian Van Damm (Bob Hoskins)
to run the Windmill.
She decides to mix things up a little bit and put nude actresses on the stage. She
has some resistance from the theatre world, including Lord Chamberlain, who licenses live shows in
Britain.
Mrs. Henderson Presents has Golden Globe
performances from Judi Dench and Bob Hoskins and is
nominated for best musical or comedy picture.
