peter jackson
When Peter Jackson was a small child a family friend saw how much he enjoyed photography and bought him
a 8mm movie camera. The camera was used to record all kinds of films Peter and his friends would act out.
At the age of 22 Jackson and his friends took four years and made a movie called Bad Taste.
One of Jackson’s friends who was in the film business saw a lot of potential in it and encouraged him to show it
around. The film made it to the Cannes film festival where it won a lot of attention and prizes.
This new success allowed him to make Braindead, Heavenly Creatures and The Frighteners.
These were successful and when it came time to find a director for the Lord Of the Rings movies, Peter Jackson
got the job.
Last year Jackson was nominated for his
directing on the final Lord of the Rings movie The
Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King.
This year Jackson up for the prize for
King Kong.
