opera
The hotly anticipated film version of the outstanding
stage production by Andrew Lloyd Weber, Phantom
tells the story of a deranged musical genius living
in the sewers below the Paris Opera House. After falling
in love with the chorus singer Christine, he begins
to tutor her privately, while terrorizing the rest of
the opera house. But when Christine (played by Emmy
Rossum) falls in love with Raoul, the Vicomte de
Chagny, a childhood friend of hers. This causes the
Phantom to to become enraged, and he kidnaps her, forcing
Raoul to rescue her from his clutches.
