Seabicuit was one of this year’s hit movies, mostly due to it’s appeal to the whole family.
Based on a true story of a rich car maker during the automotive boom named Charles Howard (Jeff Bridges) who
owns a horse name Seabiscuit. When Howard wants to start his horse racing he calls on the services of
former boxer Red Pollard (Tobey Maguire), who is half blind to be his jockey. He also hires Tom
Smith (Chris Cooper), one of the best horse trainers in the country.
The Seabiscuit was a story of inspiration for many living in the 1930’s on his way to winning the
Horse of the Year in 1938. Director Gary Ross and his cast bring the story to life. The film also features a Golden Globe performance by William H. Macy.
