Francis Ford Coppola and cousins Nicolas Cage and Jason Schwartzman
are well known actors.
Sofia Coppola started her career as an actress while she was just a baby in her father’s first Godfather
movie. She would eventually play Mary Corleone in the final Godfather film.
After appearing in various films and television as an actress, Coppola decided to follow her in her father’s
footsteps and step behind the camera. She worked television shows and music videos before working on her career making film
Lost in Translation.
Lost in Translation won this year’s Golden Globe for best comedy or musical film. Sofia herself was nominated
for the best director Golden Globe for the movie.
The film has Golden Globe performances by Bill Murray and Scarlett Johansson.
